After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy-the Winter Soldier.
Terrific sequel to Captain America, The Winter Soldier is one of the finest follow ups to A Marvel Superhero film. I really enjoyed this film, and I am a big fan of the original, and I would say that this film is on par with the original. With this sequel, the filmmakers took a darker route than the previous film, and were able to deliver a tense, thrilling action film that is sure to delight fans of the original. Chris Evans delivers yet another fine performance as Steve Rogers. What I love since The Avengers is that, these films are much more serious, ambitious and epic in terms of action. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is a great film, one that features an engrossing storyline, with top notch performances and memorable action. With that being said, you can only imagine how the sequel to “The Avengers” might look, as superhero films are much more serious than they used to be. This is a well executed picture that is sure to delight action film fans, and like I said, is on par with the original, but in many ways, I’d say it’s a more confident film because of the momentum that came after the release of The Avengers. What I mean by that, is that every sequel in the Marvel universe, seems to be more ambitious, and better. The Winter Soldier is easily my favorite sequel since “Thor: The Dark World”. With this film being one of the most anticipated films of the year, I think fans will definitely enjoy this film as much as the original, and even more so because, there is a lot more depth this time around in terms of story, which only makes The Winter Soldier a truly standout sequel. I’m not saying that the first film was bad, quite on the contrary, I loved “Captain America: The First Avenger”, but here, the screenwriters were able to add so much more to an already great story that was explored in the first Captain America. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is an exhilarating superhero picture that is sure to grab your attention from start to finish.
The film is well-scripted, filled with suspense while highlighting some important socio-political issues such as government surveillance and control in its storytelling. Although the twists in the film is predictable and fairly easy to guess, the sequel is a marked improvement compared to its predecessor, Captain America: The First Avenger. The story unfolds gradually and comes with huge, surprising developments by the end of the film. Marvel Cinematic Universe is not going to be the same again. What’s going to happen next? How the story is going to progress in Avengers: Age of Ultron, after what had happened in this film? Very Interesting.
